Is Beidou worth building?

Beidou is a strong 4-star Electro sub-DPS in Electro-Charged teams, where her Burst chains lightning off every hit her teammates land. She's energy-hungry (80-cost Burst), so a 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate is near-mandatory to both battery her and boost her Burst damage. Pair her with Fischl and Xingqiu for enough hits to proc her lightning. For weapons, the Battle Pass Serpent Spine is already plenty, no 5-star needed. Her downside: she wants the right team and careful Burst timing.

Accumulating the power of lightning, Beidou swings her blade forward fiercely, dealing Electro DMG.

Hold
Lifts her weapon up as a shield. Max DMG absorbed scales off Beidou's Max HP.
Attacks using the energy stored within the greatsword upon release or once this ability's duration expires, dealing Electro DMG. DMG dealt scales with the number of times Beidou is attacked in the skill's duration. The greatest DMG Bonus will be attained once this effect is triggered twice.
The shield possesses the following properties:
·Has 250% Electro DMG Absorption Efficiency.
·Applies the Electro element to Beidou upon activation.

Stormbreaker

Recalling her slaying of the great beast Haishan, Beidou calls upon that monstrous strength and the lightning to create a Thunderbeast's Targe around herself, dealing Electro DMG to nearby opponents.

Thunderbeast's Targe
·When Normal and Charged Attacks hit, they create a lightning discharge that can jump between opponents, dealing Electro DMG.
·Increases the character's resistance to interruption, and decreases DMG taken.

A maximum of 1 lightning discharge can be triggered per second.

With a peal of thunder, Haishan is slain.

Retribution

Counterattacking with Tidecaller at the precise moment when the character is hit grants the maximum DMG Bonus.

Lightning Storm

Gain the following effects for 10s after unleashing Tidecaller with its maximum DMG Bonus:
·DMG dealt by Normal and Charged Attacks is increased by 15%. ATK SPD of Normal and Charged Attacks is increased by 15%.
·Greatly reduced delay before unleashing Charged Attacks.

Conqueror of Tides

Decreases swimming Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

Polaris

When holding down on the Elemental Skill Tidecaller, 1 stack of power will accumulate every 0.8s, even when not under attack. This increases the DMG dealt at the point of unleashing.
Additionally, holding down to unleash Tidecaller and hitting the opponent also gives extra boosts based on the power accumulated: every stack active decreases Beidou's Elemental Skill CD by 4s, as well as regenerates 8 Elemental Energy for her. This effect can trigger once every 15s.
Additionally, when inside a Polestar Field, Beidou will enter the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state.

Combat Rotation

Before the fight starts, hold Tidecaller (E) to raise the lightning shield around Beidou, which absorbs damage scaling off her Max HP.
Deliberately tank a couple of hits while holding the shield — getting hit exactly twice charges it to its maximum DMG Bonus.
Release E right after the second hit lands to unleash the strongest Electro DMG slash, applying Electro to Beidou herself.
Cast her Burst, Stormbreaker, for 80 Energy to summon the Thunderbeast's Targe: damage reduction and interruption resistance on a 20s cooldown, lasting 15s.
During those 15s, keep landing Normal and Charged Attacks to trigger the jumping lightning discharge (capped at once per second) across multiple enemies, fishing for elemental reactions if the team has Hydro/Cryo/Anemo.
If running Beidou as a sub-DPS/support, throw a few hits then swap to the main DPS while standing in the Burst's field to share the damage reduction and lightning procs.
While E is off cooldown (7.5s, no Energy cost), repeat the hold-tank-release loop to keep dealing damage and shielding the team.
Time the Burst every 20s and make sure Energy Recharge lets her hit 80 Energy in that window if you're not swapping off-field to recharge her.
