Is Hu Tao worth building?

Hu Tao is still one of the strongest, most explosive Pyro DPS in the game, especially in a Double Hydro Vaporize team. She's a little demanding — you have to keep her HP low and time her charged-attack windows — but once it clicks, her damage is a joy. What she needs most is a Hydro unit like Xingqiu or Yelan to trigger Vaporize, and ideally Zhongli for a shield so you can sit at low HP safely. Homa is her BiS weapon, but a self-crafted 4-star Dragon's Bane already hits hard; farm Crimson Witch of Flames and prioritize EM, then CRIT.

Guide to Afterlife

Only an unwavering flame can cleanse the impurities of this world.
Hu Tao consumes a set portion of her HP to knock the surrounding enemies back and enter the Paramita Papilio state.

Paramita Papilio
·Increases Hu Tao's ATK based on her Max HP at the time of entering this state. ATK Bonus gained this way cannot exceed 400% of Hu Tao's Base ATK.
·Converts attack DMG to Pyro DMG, which cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion.
·Charged Attacks apply the Blood Blossom effect to the enemies hit.
·Increases Hu Tao's resistance to interruption.

Blood Blossom
Enemies affected by Blood Blossom will take Pyro DMG every 4s. This DMG is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
Each enemy can be affected by only one Blood Blossom effect at a time, and its duration may only be refreshed by Hu Tao herself.

Paramita Papilio ends when its duration is over, or Hu Tao has left the battlefield or fallen.

Hu Tao's Secret Spear technique is based on several rules, the first of which is: "The spear opens the path to the afterlife, and the butterflies bridge this world and the next."

Spirit Soother

Commands a blazing spirit to attack, dealing Pyro DMG in a large AoE.
Upon striking the enemy, regenerates a percentage of Hu Tao's Max HP. This effect can be triggered up to 5 times, based on the number of enemies hit.
If Hu Tao's HP is below or equal to 50% when the enemy is hit, both the DMG and HP Regeneration are increased.

Supernatural activity by those who have already left this world is a source of great anxiety for the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. In such cases, cremation always lets Hu Tao find peace of mind. The more anxious she feels, the stronger the flame.

Flutter By

When a Paramita Papilio state activated by Guide to Afterlife ends, all allies in the party (excluding Hu Tao herself) will have their CRIT Rate increased by 12% for 8s.

Sanguine Rouge

When Hu Tao's HP is equal to or less than 50%, her Pyro DMG Bonus is increased by 33%.

The More the Merrier

When Hu Tao cooks a dish perfectly, she has an 18% chance to receive an additional "Suspicious" dish of the same type.

Combat Rotation

Bring a reliable healer or shield support since Hu Tao's kit spends her own HP.
Cast Guide to Afterlife (Elemental Skill) to consume HP and enter Paramita Papilio, boosting ATK based on Max HP.
Attacks now deal Pyro DMG; prioritize spamming Charged Attacks to apply Blood Blossom on enemies.
Keep HP safely below 50% to trigger her Sanguine Rouge passive, gaining +33% Pyro DMG Bonus.
Once you have 60 energy, unleash Spirit Soother (Elemental Burst) for AoE Pyro DMG and HP regen based on enemies hit (up to 5 times), both boosted when HP is ≤50%.
Refresh Guide to Afterlife every 16s to maintain Paramita Papilio and refresh Blood Blossom (only Hu Tao can refresh it).
Weave in Charged Attacks continuously, using Plunging Attacks for grouped mobs when needed.
Loop Skill → constant Charged Attacks → Burst on cooldown, monitoring HP to balance damage and survival.
