Best team comps
The best Wuthering Waves team comps by carry, with why each member works.

Best team in the game — Lynae and Mornye stack Tune Break and Liberation buffs for massive burst hits.
Lucilla completes the premium Glacio Chafe core — clears both single-target and multi-wave endgame with ease.
Lynae's Tune Break and Liberation buff stacking feeds straight into Hiyuki's nuke windows, while Chisa raises the max stack ceiling on Glacio Chafe so each burst lands harder — a heavier-hitting alternative to Hiyuki's standard Echo-focused rotation.
Denia stacks Tune Strain while Mornye amplifies — the best single-target Spectro team.
Best Aero team — top-tier in both single-target and multi-wave content with full Aero and Echo Skill buff stacking.
Iuno amplifies Heavy Attack while healing; Lynae raises the whole team ceiling — the best Electro team so far.
Iuno's Heavy Attack buffs and Outro Skill amplification plug straight into Augusta's Heavy-Attack-driven Electro kit, and her healing plus stamina regen keep the rotation running without gaps; Shorekeeper's Liberation field adds continuous healing and a Crit buff so both units can commit fully to their Heavy Attack windows.
Cantarella enables the Echo Skill archetype and Qiuyuan buffs it — near-zero damage downtime in multi-wave content.
Ciaccona applies Aero Erosion stacks and Aero Rover supports — the definitive Erosion team.
Phoebe is the premier Spectro Frazzle applier-amplifier for Zani; officially recommended pairing.
The two collab units enable the exclusive Hack-Shifting Tune Break; Mornye amplifies it further.
Zhezhi's off-field Glacio damage and Skill-DMG amplification stack cleanly with Carlotta.
Mortefi's coordinated attacks amplify Jiyan's Heavy-Attack burst window; Baizhi keeps it F2P-friendly.
Chisa raises the max stack ceiling on Havoc Bane and shreds enemy DEF through the status, letting Yangyang: Xuanling's self-buffs build faster; Rebecca layers on All-DMG and Heavy Attack buffs that lift every hit in the rotation.
Yinlin's coordinated attacks feed Jinhsi's Incandescence stacks for huge Liberation bursts.
Mortefi's coordinated attacks and Outro amplify Changli's Fusion combos.
Sanhua's Basic Attack Deepen and fast Concerto let Camellya stay on field longer.
Free-to-obtain core: Sanhua buffs Basic Attack, Verina sustains — carries early and mid game.
The default free team that carries the early story chapters.
Free team with real endgame legs: Sanhua buffs the Dark Surge Basic-Attack window.
Main DPS, Sub-DPS, Support: the 3-role structure
Every Wuthering Waves team is exactly 3 Resonators, each locked to one job. The Main DPS spends the most time on-field and carries the bulk of total damage. The Sub-DPS swaps in for a short burst — dealing damage, applying a status, or landing a Deepen — then swaps back out. The Support/Healer covers healing, shields, or team-wide amplification, usually through a short Liberation or Outro window rather than staying on-field.
Shorekeeper is the clearest example: near-continuous healing plus Crit buffs make her a near-universal third slot.
Concerto Energy and the Outro–Intro swap chain
Attacking fills a Resonator's Concerto Energy; once it's full, swapping that character out triggers their Outro Skill — usually a buff or Deepen for whoever comes in — and the incoming Resonator immediately fires their own Intro Skill. Chaining these swaps mid-combo, known as quick-swapping, is the backbone of every rotation on this page. In
Jinhsi Coord, for example,
Yinlin's coordinated attacks feed Jinhsi's Incandescence stacks before the Outro window opens, turning the swap into a huge Liberation burst instead of a damage gap.
Match the Deepen type to how your DPS actually scales
Deepen (DMG Amplify) multiplies with regular DMG Bonus instead of adding to it — 30% Deepen plus 30% DMG Bonus is a ×1.69 multiplier, not ×1.60 — so the right Deepen type matters more than a big number.
Augusta is a Heavy-Attack DPS, so
Iuno's Heavy Attack amplification is what actually raises her ceiling.
Carlotta scales off Resonance Skill, exactly what
Zhezhi's Skill-DMG amplification targets.
Jiyan and
Camellya follow the same logic with Heavy Attack and Basic Attack Deepen respectively — mismatch the type and the buff does almost nothing.
Mono-element teams: full Sonata-set and status stacking
A mono-element team builds every Resonator's Echoes around the same elemental Sonata set, so 2-piece and 5-piece bonuses stack across all three members instead of splitting.
Cartethyia Erosion is the clean example: Cartethyia,
Ciaccona and Rover-Aero are all Aero, applying and amplifying self-Aero Erosion stacks the whole rotation.
Sigrika Aero Echo is rated the best Aero team in the game for exactly this reason — full Aero and Echo Skill buff stacking across single-target and multi-wave content alike. The trade-off is flexibility: a mono team locks out mixing in whichever role is strongest that patch.
Start F2P, then upgrade one slot at a time
None of the 21 teams below require premium characters to start. Early
Encore (Encore,
Sanhua, Verina) and the free-starter cores F2P Spectro Rover and F2P Havoc Rover carry the early and mid game on 100% free units. Union Level 45 also unlocks one free 5★ standard weapon — Emerald of Genesis, Cosmic Ripples, or Static Mist are the strongest picks. From there, upgrade one role at a time: swap in Verina or Shorekeeper once pulled, then a premium coordinated attacker for the free Sub-DPS, working toward an SS-tier core like Aemeath Tune Rupture without rebuilding the whole team at once.
